| Bringing a new kitten into your home can be both exciting and traumatic for you AND the kitten. Your kitten needs special care and attention. Vaccinations are started at 6 weeks old and are given every 3 weeks until the kitten is 12 weeks old. In addition to vaccinations and a checkup, kittens need toys and other items. Here is a list of suggestions for things you will need:
Litter box, Litter Options: Box liner (to make cleaning easy). Box cover (to add privacy and to keep the litter in). Toys, Scratching post, Balls to chase Water and food dishes KITTEN food - make sure to get food for a kitten. There is a difference!! Kennel - for carrying the kitten to and from the veterinarian. Laxatone - Get this from your veterinarian for hair balls. Flea comb, Collar - regular and/or flea collar LoShed - to help reduce shedding We recommend the following vaccination schedule 6 weeks of age: Distemper Combination (panleukopenia, calici virus, rhinotracheitis, chlamydia) Deworming 9 weeks of age: Distemper Combination (panleukopenia, calici virus, rhinotracheitis, chlamydia) Feline Leukemia Deworming 12 weeks of age: Distemper Combination (panleukopenia, calici virus, rhinotracheitis, chlamydia) Feline Leukemia Rabies Vaccination Deworming 15 weeks of age: Distemper Combination (panleukopenia, calici virus, rhinotracheitis, chlamydia) Rabies Vaccination, if not given at 12 weeks of age.
